Conserve and Preserve a Building of Heritage and Great Community Value

Councillor Sue Croft - Vice Chairman, North Devon Council

'This beautiful, Grade II listed thatched barn doubles as the Parish Hall in East Worlington. It is a vital and important facility that supports the local community as a meeting place, tea room for events and children's play areas. The local community give freely hours of their time to the upkeep of this historic building and I am pleased to offer my continued support. The conservation and improvement work to the Hall is making excellent progress and I look forward to it fulfilling its function as the community hub.'

Mike Johnson, Executive Headteacher, Chulmleigh Academy Trust

‘The changes that have been made to the Parish Hall at East Worlington are remarkable. I can see clearly that this will bring great benefits to the community. The children at East Worlington Primary School will shortly have a warm and dry space for their PE lessons, assemblies and evening events. It is clear that the funding has been used very effectively. We are delighted to see what is taking shape for our children.’

Fantastic project, well done! Look forward to visiting again to see progress.
